Play Gomoku (Five in a Row) Against AI

Gomoku, also known as Five in a Row, Caro, Omok, or Gobang, is a strategy board game played on a 15×15 intersection grid. Kymi Board Games offers a browser-based game with four AI difficulty levels and a choice of Free Gomoku or Renju rules. Online play is being prepared and is not currently available.

Standard Free Gomoku vs. Official Renju Rules

In casual Free Gomoku, the first player to form 5 or more stones in a row wins. However, high-level Gomoku has mathematically demonstrated that Black (first move) has a winning advantage on an unrestricted board. The Renju International Federation (RIF) established Renju rules to restore strategic balance, introducing fouls (금수) for Black: double-three (3-3), double-four (4-4), and overline (6+ stones). Our built-in Assist mode displays visual threat warnings and marks illegal squares to help players learn and master competitive Renju.
